Gwanghwamun is very important as the center of Korean history, culture, and art. At Gwanghwamun, you can see the imaginary results that will surprise the world when current and future technologies meet. The Korean media technology identified in Gwanghwamun will lead the world in the future of technology convergence. Experience Korean technology through the age of light exhibition produced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Korea Creative Content Agency. There are a total of eight contents of the age of light, and today I will introduce the most popular Gwanghwamun among the eight contents.

Content introduction

In times of pandemic, 5G technology is not just a tool that brings convenience into our daily lives. Technology comforts and warms our minds in the midst of busy and hectic lives. It takes us to the ocean to enjoy cool breezes, gives us words of encouragement to keep going, and lets us feel the vitality of nature that transforms and sustains. Come visit Gwanghwawon and take a walk in the garden to immerse in the lights of recovery and healing.

The media art can be divided into six works in addition to [Gemstone] installed on the exterior of the exhibition. 1) Timeless Langscape, 2) Born Again, 3) Blooming City, 4) The Word for World, 5) Sound Journeys, 6) Eternal Nature. There were children at the time I was watching, and the response was definitely more immediate than adults. Among the works, Sound Journeys is a work that expresses the process of creating, changing, and extinguishing the natural environment with sound and visual metaphors. Especially when I stand on a video of a physical floor, I can actually see the shape of water crashing into me and flowing sideways. It was a work that melted interactive technology through laser sensors, and I liked the feeling of integrating the work with me as a viewer.

How to enjoy

Open hour : 10 am ~ 10 pm on everydays

Venue : Seoul Metro Art Center Museum 2 (It is connected to Gyeongbokgung Station, a subway station. Go underground using Exit 4 or 6 of Gyeongbokgung Station.)

Reservations are unavailable at this time, and visitors can enter after a wait time depending on the on-site situation. (Free tour upon entry)
